Myelopathy

by Brian Hwang, MD | 2 years ago

Myelopathy is potentially a serious condition that involves an injury to the spinal cord. Myelopathy is often caused by severe compression of the spinal cord from spinal stenosis, disc degeneration, disc herniation, or trauma. Myelopathy does not always cause pain and therefore, symptoms can go unnoticed for a long time. Myelopathy often needs surgery to take pressure off the spinal cord.
