Lip Gloss

by Debra Price MD | 14 years ago

Miami dermatologist, Debra Price MD discusses the potential risks of lip gloss. There are 3500 cases of lip cancer diagnosed annually. Lip gloss can act as a sun magnifier, increasing the penetration of the sun's ultraviolet rays. This is of particular concern, because when squamous cell carcinoma develops on the lips, it has a higher propensity to spread. What's a girl to do? Wear lipstick or choose a lip gloss that incorporates a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more.
